Realme 8s 5G Vs Redmi Note 10T 5G Full Comparison Friends, you know how fun it is to compare phones from Realme & Redmi! Their comparisons are spicy, especially the Redmi Note series & the Realme Number series. Both these phones compete against each other & they’re always close in terms of pricing, specifications, etc. And that’s why we bring you such comparisons & this is the 1st time that the Redmi Note series has a 5G phone. Also, the Realme Number series has its 1st 5G phone.
Realme 8s 5G Vs Redmi Note 10T 5G
Today, we’ll do their complete comparison. And at the end of this video, we’ll see who is better! Friends, let’s quickly start with the looks. Design/Looks – The Redmi 10T 5G is a little shiny while the Realme 8s 5G is matte. In terms of looks, I liked the Realme 8s 5G to be better as it’s slightly on the premium side. They both look very similar if you see them from far away & you won’t be able to make out the difference. Not just looks, but even if I pick them up blindfolded, I won’t be able to tell them apart with their weights in my hand.
As they almost weigh the same at around 190-192g. So they’re very similar from the outside. And to talk about the inside, let’s first talk about their specifications. There’s a major difference here! But before we go to specifications, let’s talk about their prices! Realme 8s 5G is priced at KSh 17,999/-(6GB+128GB variant). And the Redmi Note 10T 5G(6GB+128GB variant) is at KSh 16,999/-(KSh 1K less). Now is the Realme 8s worth this extra KSh 1K? Specifications – The biggest difference: the Realme 8s comes on Dimensity 810 SoC, which is based on 6nm fabrication technology.
The Redmi Note 10T comes on Dimensity 700 SoC, which is based on 7nm fabrication technology. If I talk about the performance, there’s definitely a huge difference in both devices! On paper as well as actual usage. The Note 10T 5G’s AnTuTu score is around 2.90-2.95L. While the 8s score around 3.75L. So 3.75L on Realme 8s 5G & 2.93L on the Redmi Note 10T.
So the Realme 8s beats the Redmi Note 10T hands down in terms of performance. But if you’re gaming, then you can play on HD-High settings on both devices easily. Despite the low AnTuTu score on the Redmi Note 10T, you can play games on HD-High settings. Display – They both have absolutely similar displays, with 6.5” FHD+ screens & 90Hz fast refresh rates. And I’ve tested both phones’ display panels, they’re very similar & I cannot make a difference between them. So, I’d say they’re equal here. Battery – There’s a difference here despite having the same battery capacity! They both have 5000mAh batteries. But the Redmi Note 10T has 18W charging while the Realme 8s has 33W charging which nearly doubles the fast-charging capacity!
And its processor being 6nm is more power-efficient as well. So the 5000mAh battery will run longer on the Realme 8s.
Friends, both have LPDDR4X RAM types, but the storage types are slightly different. The Realme 8s has UFS 2.1 while the Redmi Note 10T has UFS 2.2 where the write speeds are more & the read speeds are similar. Ports & Buttons – Both are very similar here except the 3.5mm jack position on the Realme 8s is below while it’s on top of the Redmi Note 10T.
But the Redmi Note 10T has an IR Blaster which is not present in the Realme 8s. But there’s 1 difference in the sim card tray, you get a hybrid sim slot in the Redmi Note 10T, while it’s a dedicated slot on the Realme 8s. Senso KSh – Both have the same sensor & as I mentioned there’s the extra IR blaster on the Redmi Note 10T. All other sensors are the same, & on both phones, you get a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. OS UI – The Redmi Note 10T 5G comes on MIUI 12.0.5, which might get updated later. The Realme 8s 5G comes on Realme UI 2.0 & both phones are based on Android 11. If I talk about a winner here, both phones’ native apps send you notifications but the Redmi Note 10T 5G shows more ads.
The rest all depends on you & MIUI 12 has many bugs, so I’d say there’s a slight edge for the Realme 8s 5G.
But there’s a big OS difference, the DRE, meaning virtual RAM which you can expand by 5GB on the Realme 8s 5G.
You can even expand 5GB virtual RAM on the 6GB & 8GB variants. It isn’t real RAM but you can expand it.
You don’t have the same option on the Redmi Note 10T 5G.
But I forgot to tell y’all, there’s a base variant(4GB+64GB) in the Redmi Note 10T. Which is absent in the Realme 8s. The base variant here is the 6GB+128GB, while the Redmi Note 10T base variant costs KSh 14,999. And if your budget is KSh 15K, then you don’t have an option for Realme 8s, you’ll only have to look at the Redmi Note 10T 5G. Connectivity – You get connectivity options & they’re both 5G. The Realme 8s has 7 5G bands(standalone & non-standalone),
while the Redmi Note 10T has 6, 5G bands. Cameras – I know you all are waiting for it, the Realme 8s 5G has 64MP+2MP+2MP cameras & a 16MP selfie sensor. The Redmi Note 10T 5G has 48MP+2MP+2MP cameras, yes both don’t have ultrawide sensor KSh. And at this price range, they both should’ve had ultrawide sensor KSh.
The selfie sensor on Redmi Note 10T is 8MP. But, how are the actual results?
I’ll tell you what, we clicked around 50-60 photos, & while I was looking at some of them I was surprised. The Realme 8s 5G’s primary 64MP sensor is better than the Redmi Note 10T 5G’s 48MP sensor. The color KSh is punchier & many times I found the Redmi Note 10T photos to be hazy & felt dull with low energy. I’m not sure why even in sharpness & dynamic range, the Realme 8s’ primary sensor works very well! In fact, look at the photos on the screen & see the difference between the two! Even, the rear camera’s skin tones & details are better on the Realme 8s’ 64MP sensor.
And same goes for the front selfie sensor as well!
Both my selfies feel that my skin’s smoothened out on the Redmi Note 10T’s 8MP selfie sensor. The 16MP sensor on the Realme 8s showed me proper details & even the color tones were quite good! Overall, I’d definitely say that the Realme 8s camera performed much better! To talk about videos, on paper the Realme 8s has EIS but the footage we got was good in color KSh & dynamic range, but the footage was a little choppy, which I expected to be smooth but it wasn’t. Overall, the cameras of Realme 8s 5G perform better than the Redmi Note 10T 5G.
So finally, what’s my verdict?
If your budget is around KSh 15K, the pricing of the Redmi Note 10T 5G is good! As the 4GB+64GB variant starts from KSh 15K.
And even the 6GB+128GB variant price is KSh 1K less than the Realme 8s 6GB+128GB variant. So pricing is a big factor. You get an IR Blaster which is absent on Realme phones. But apart from that, in terms of performance, camera, fast charging & OS, then the Realme 8s wins according to me!
And if you ask, should we pay the extra KSh 1K for that?
Then I think yes, you should! But both phones have 1 bad thing, that’s the ultrawide sensor that’s missing. In this price range, there should’ve been ultrawide sensor KSh in both phones, in the Realme 8s 5G & the Redmi Note 10T 5G!
And yes you get DRE, the 5GB extra virtual RAM, so that’s a plus point for Realme 8s. Friends, if you have any questions related to these phones’ comparison, then do COMMENT!
